Support for individuals and families in Dallas working through a mental health or addiction crisis.
A crisis can follow a relapse, a loss, a confrontation that finally happened, or a mental health condition that has become unmanageable. Whatever brought it on, the days around it are hard to think clearly in — and families often carry as much of it as the person in the middle of it.
Crisis management at Campbell Recovery Services is counseling support through that period. We meet with the person and, where it helps, with the family. We work to understand what is happening, help everyone see it accurately, and work out what the first steps should be. Where treatment or a different level of care is the right answer, we help identify the options and make the referral.
This is outpatient counseling support. It is not emergency care or medical treatment. If the situation is an emergency, please read the guidance further down this page first.
Crisis management is not one appointment or a fixed program. It is focused, practical support during a period when things have become unmanageable.
Depending on the situation, it can include a mental health assessment to establish an accurate picture of what is happening, counseling for the individual, sessions with the family so that everyone is working from the same understanding, help thinking through treatment options, and coordination with the other people involved in someone’s care.
Anthony Sedlacek, an Interventionist and Case Manager on the Campbell team, works specifically with individuals in crisis and with their families, bringing stability, direction and discretion to situations that call for clear thinking. Where a planned intervention is the right next step, that is a separate service and we will say so. Support for family members is available whether or not an intervention goes ahead.
The immediate work is about lowering the pressure: understanding what has happened, what the person needs now, and what is realistic to do next. Coping strategies matter here, and so does having someone experienced to think it through with.
Once the most acute period has passed, the underlying picture usually needs attention. That may mean ongoing individual therapy, family therapy, addiction counseling, or recovery support such as recovery coaching, a sober companion, or case management to keep the practical pieces connected. A crisis is often the point at which someone becomes willing to begin that work, and it is worth using.

I’ve never had such a positive therapy experience in my life! It wasn’t easy to seek out support and doubted I’d find someone I connected with who could see me on the very limited hours I was available, but John from Campbell Recovery Services took all of my limitations and requests into account. Can’t recommend this place enough.
I have referred many clients to Campbell Recovery Services and have received great feedback about their service.
