Biography

As a person in long-term recovery, Savannah understands how debilitating the cycle of addiction is for individuals and their families. Her personal experiences with mental health challenges helped fuel her passion for guiding individuals through their healing journeys. This ultimately led her to pursue a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health from Texas Christian University and become a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Savannah works with teenagers and adults who struggle with issues such as substance abuse, addiction, depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, self-esteem, motivation, impulsivity, and anger management.

 

Prior to joining Campbell Recovery Services, Savannah spent several years working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals (Mesa Springs, Carrollton Springs, Haven Behavioral), residential treatment (Nexus Recovery Center), and intensive outpatient treatment (Children’s Health). Through her array of professional endeavors, she is well-versed in treating a wide range of mental health concerns with a specialty in substance use and high-risk behaviors. 

 

Savannah has extensive training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and utilizes skills and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Most importantly, Savannah works intentionally with each client and tailors her approach to ensure the client’s unique goals and needs are met. She believes that all individuals are resilient and capable of change. Therefore, she utilizes a strengths-based approach in which she empowers her clients to be the best versions of themselves. By highlighting personal strengths and values, her clients are able to develop hope and meaning in their lives. 

 

Lastly, Savannah is a Dallas native and grew up in Highland Park. She is familiar with the unique advantages and challenges of living in this area of town. She works diligently to not make assumptions and understands that everyone has their own experiences. However, her understanding of the community can be a benefit to local individuals and families. She currently resides in Uptown with her Pomeranian, Charlie Brown. Savannah frequents Drip Coffee, Eatzi’s, and Flower Child. She also enjoys connecting with other young adults in the recovery community.
