Life and Recovery Coaching in Dallas

At Campbell Recovery Services, our Life and Recovery Coaching programs empower individuals and families to build meaningful lives in recovery. Whether you’re newly sober, navigating a major life transition, or seeking extra support after treatment, our coaches help bridge the gap between clinical care and real-world living.

What Is a Recovery Coach, and What Does One Do?

Life and Recovery Coaching is a non-clinical, strengths-based service that guides clients through the challenges of early recovery and beyond. Unlike therapy, which focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, coaching focuses on action, accountability, and support.

Our coaches work collaboratively with clients to:

  • Set realistic goals and build healthy routines
  • Develop effective coping strategies
  • Navigate life transitions, relationships, and stressors
  • Strengthen communication skills and boundaries
  • Reinforce skills learned in treatment

In addition, our coaching services help clients build essential life skills, such as:

  • Finding and maintaining employment
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Physical fitness, nutrition, and hygiene
  • Expanding social support networks

We also provide hands-on support to help clients get connected in their communities, including accompanying them to local support groups, recovery meetings, or church services to foster connection and belonging.

What Is a Sober Coach?

Sober coaching and recovery coaching describe the same kind of practical, day-to-day support, and at Campbell Recovery Services it is delivered as Life and Recovery Coaching. It is a non-clinical, strengths-based service that guides clients through the challenges of early recovery and beyond.

A coach is not a therapist. Unlike therapy, which focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, coaching focuses on action, accountability, and support — setting realistic goals, building healthy routines, and working on life skills such as employment, budgeting, fitness and expanding social support networks. Coaching and therapy work well together: therapy addresses the why behind patterns, coaching the how of changing them.

Support is available in scheduled sessions — weekly in-person or virtual sessions, check-ins and accountability services — or hourly, for flexible, as-needed help. Sober companion support is provided by the same Life and Recovery Coaches, in person alongside the client.

Accountability Services

All of our monthly coaching packages include comprehensive accountability services to support lasting change. These services include:

  • Drug Testing: Routine screenings to maintain accountability and build trust.
  • Breathalyzers: Monitoring tools to support sobriety and relapse prevention.
  • Technology Management: Guidance and oversight to help manage screen time, gaming, or internet use that can challenge recovery.

Monthly Coaching Packages

We offer three flexible coaching tiers to fit your needs and level of support:

Tier 1: 9 Hours per Week

This tier is ideal for clients needing intensive, hands-on support. It includes a weekly schedule of in-person or virtual sessions, check-ins, and accountability services.

Tier 2: 6 Hours per Week

A balanced option that provides substantial support while allowing space for independent growth. Weekly coaching sessions, progress reviews, and accountability services are included.

Tier 3: 3 Hours per Week

Perfect for those stepping down from higher levels of care or seeking focused coaching on specific life challenges. Flexible scheduling options are available in-person or virtually, with accountability services included.

Additional Features Included in All Coaching Packages

  • 24/7 on-call support for urgent needs or crises.
  • Weekly family updates to keep loved ones informed and engaged in the process.
  • Collaboration with our clinical team to ensure a coordinated approach to care.

Additional Services

In addition to our tiered packages, we also offer:

  • Custom coaching packages tailored to your unique goals and schedule.
  • Hourly Life and Recovery Coaching for flexible, as-needed support.
  • Sober companion support, provided by the same Life and Recovery Coaches, in person alongside the client.

Family Recovery Coaching

Hourly Family Coaching to help families strengthen communication and support recovery.

Benefits of Therapy and Coaching Together

Life and Recovery Coaching is a powerful complement to therapy. When combined, coaching and therapy create a holistic support system that addresses both clinical and practical needs. Therapy provides a safe space to process emotions, trauma, and mental health concerns, while coaching helps clients implement real-world changes, build accountability, and take action toward their goals.

By using therapy and coaching together, clients can:

  • Maintain consistent progress and build momentum in recovery.
  • Address both the “why” behind patterns (therapy) and the “how” of changing them (coaching).
  • Receive support in areas like life skills, job readiness, budgeting, and healthy routines.
  • Experience seamless collaboration between therapists and coaches for comprehensive care.

In-Person or Virtual Options

Our coaching services are available in person in the Dallas area and virtually for clients beyond Dallas and Texas. Virtual coaching covers the same sessions, check-ins and accountability services as in-person coaching. Because coaching is non-clinical, it is not therapy, and therapy and assessments remain Dallas-based services.

What Those Who Know Us Best Are Saying

I’ve never had such a positive therapy experience in my life! It wasn’t easy to seek out support and doubted I’d find someone I connected with who could see me on the very limited hours I was available, but John from Campbell Recovery Services took all of my limitations and requests into account. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Rich W.

I have referred many clients to Campbell Recovery Services and have received great feedback about their service.
