Drug and Alcohol Counseling in Lakewood, Dallas

For people in Lakewood and East Dallas who want to stop drinking or using, and for the families around them.

Lakewood sits in East Dallas, on the western side of White Rock Lake. Campbell Recovery Services works with people from the neighborhood who have reached the point where drinking or drug use is no longer something they can manage on their own.

Most people who call us have already tried to stop by themselves, usually more than once. That is the ordinary starting point rather than a sign of failure. What tends to change the result is a clear picture of what is actually going on, a clinician who knows the territory, and some structure to hold onto between appointments.

Looking at What Is Driving the Drinking or Using

Stopping is rarely just a matter of willpower. We look at the personal history underneath the substance use, including trauma, grief, anxiety and depression, and the events that moved things from habit to dependency. Treating those together is what makes the change hold.

Depending on what you are dealing with, that can involve:

Counselors Who Have Been Through It Themselves

A good part of our team has been on the other side of this, and they say so plainly:

  • John Campbell, our Founder and CEO, was born and raised in Dallas and struggled with drug and alcohol addiction from an early age. Through treatment, sober living and the recovery community, he has maintained continuous sobriety since 2008. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
  • Michael Burton faced and overcame alcoholism and addiction himself, including several setbacks along the way. He is a Life and Recovery Coach and a Peer Recovery Support Specialist.
  • Stephen Kleine came to Texas after active duty in the United States Marine Corps and began his own move away from addiction here. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and works with first responders and veterans.

That matters in the room. It is a different conversation with someone who already knows how the reasoning goes when you are talking yourself into one more.

What Those Who Know Us Best Are Saying

I’ve never had such a positive therapy experience in my life! It wasn’t easy to seek out support and doubted I’d find someone I connected with who could see me on the very limited hours I was available, but John from Campbell Recovery Services took all of my limitations and requests into account. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Rich W.

I have referred many clients to Campbell Recovery Services and have received great feedback about their service.
